The reception tables twinkled even more with the silver tea light dove place card holders she selected. All the lady guests received small jewelry boxes with sculpted flowers and little crystals to add to its beauty. For the men in attendance, a key chain with a frog prince on it was given to them as a wedding favor. The wooden, silver-plated, affordable jewelry boxes that each of the bridesmaids received had a black velvet lining. Each box had the name and of the bride and groom and the wedding date etched in them. The girls seemed to really like the thank you gift that my daughter picked out. It was a box like I used to have, I had no idea it was a jewelry box, it was so expensive looking. Each of the groomsmen received a set of wine gifts and their names etched in a tiny plaque. I felt those were novel thank you gift ideas.
A tiny castle sitting at the top of the three-tiered wedding cake lent the cake a mystical appearance. The cake knife set and champagne glasses meshed perfectly together with the cake. Many of her decorations and supplies were top of the line, but she came in well below where I had expected on their wedding budget. We offered to pay for the wedding, since we are the brides parents, but they both insisted they could do it themselves.
I felt the warm tears flow down my face as the two of them gracefully floated around the floor for their first dance. It was as if I were watching the real prince and princess in the Cinderella story dancing together. The guys got so rowdy trying to catch the garter, during the garter toss, that they had me laughing to no end. My daughter’s wedding day was as magical as she imagined it would be, and the whole thing was so special. Her ideal honeymoon is where they are at the moment, and I’m sure it will be wonderful, too. When they return, I want a full description of all the wonderful places they visited while sight seeing.
