In my day, jewelry boxes were just a box that all the jewelry went in, but now, you can buy watch jewelry boxes, earring jewelry boxes and boxes that are specifically made for necklaces only. The women who stood up in my daughter’s wedding all got a jewelry box from her, and she picked one out for herself as well. She purchased a lot of things besides that, including her accesssories and reception supplies. They have some pretty nice suggestions for wedding decors, from traditional to themed. My daughter and son in law chose to have a fairy tale themed wedding, with all the trimmings. She really did look like Cinderella at the ball in her lovely wedding gown and long veil, and I must admit my son in law looked just as good as Prince Charming in his stunning tux. The ceremony was delightful. They left the wedding chapel in style, with a man in a tall white hat and long tails on his coat driving them away in a horse drawn carriage.
The reception had small white lights to add with the tulle that was draped above and tall flower vases scattered all about the room. An arch with green plants and red and white roses climbing up an arch stood behind the newlyweds’ table, while the wedding guests had at their tables an exquisite bouquet of flowers with sparkles that shimmered silver. For place card holders she found these silver dove tea light holders that really added glimmer to her settings. Flower and crystals adorned the small jewelry boxes that each lady at the wedding got as a gift. The men were given little key chains with the well known frog prince as a charm. The wooden, silver-plated, cheap jewelry boxes that each of the bridesmaids received had a black velvet lining. The date of the wedding and name of the happy couple were inscribed in the boxes. The bridesmaids were very appreciative of what my daughter gave them as a thank you gift. The jewelry box she got them looked very nice, but it was in fact a discount jewelry box and I had one like it myself for a long time. The men each got a commemorative inscription in a tiny plaque and a set of wine related gifts. Those were great, one of a kind thank you gifts, in my opinion.
Her wedding cake topper was a really unique little dream castle that really showed off the lovliness of their three tiered wedding cake. My daughter picked out champagne flutes and a cake serving set to tie in with the fairytale-themed cake. The amount of money she saved was staggering considering that she didn’t skimp on quality. They were firm about the fact that they did not want us to cover the bills from the wedding even though, as parents of the bride, we made it clear to them that we expected to pay for everything.
The first dance for the bride and groom was like something in a movie, and it was very emotional for me. It was as if I were watching the real prince and princess in the Cinderella story dancing together. The guys got so rowdy trying to catch the garter, during the garter toss, that they had me laughing to no end. Everything turned out perfect and my little girl got the kind of wedding and reception she always dreamed of. Her ideal honeymoon is where they are at the moment, and I’m sure it will be wonderful, too. She promised to tell me all about the great places they went to while on their honeymoon, as soon as she gets home.

Getting the products I needed for the ceremony and reception required some thought, but as I turned my attention to getting a present for my bridesmaids, it dawned on me that I had a long ways to go yet. The perfect gift for them was hard to find. I saw all kinds of possiblities for wedding favors for bridesmaids and wedding guests on the Internet. But the hard part was picking out which was the best to buy. I found some bargains on thank you presents, too. One particular eight-piece set I found saved me a lot of money; it had a pillow for the ring bearer, a basket for the flower girl, a pen and sign-in book for guests, and several other things, all in one. That was a big savings. Buying them together rather than individually saved me a pretty penny.
I was just browsing through possible thank you presents when I finally came across something the women standing up for my wedding would like: a beautifully adorned jewelry box. In fact there were a few nice wedding jewelry boxes that I could choose from. The choices for what to get my bridesmaids were so many that I finally just went back to planning the rest of the wedding because my head was spinning. I had almost everything I needed for the ceremony, but there was a few more things I needed to pick out for my reception. The wedding favors for relatives and close acquaintances hadn’t been settled on, so I looked at doing that, and then there was also the matter of a wedding cake topper to look into. Bottle openers made of chrome in the form of birds of peace and salt and pepper shakers that looked like a couple on their wedding day were what I went with. The package that the dove bottle openers came in was so pretty that I just used that and didn’t even get any special boxes. My man got the groomsmen a neat little multi-purpose tool that had a tiny scissors and a toothpick and all kinds of weird gadgets.
We got a cake topper of pair of newly weds locked in a loving embrace. I looked at several different styles, and almost bought the monogram cake topper with silver brushed initials and crystals, but I fell for the embracing couple instead. Now, I had everything but the gifts for my girls, so I had to make a final decision. They each got leather jewelry boxes, and inside of it was some unique wedding jewelry. What I found for them was a shimmering rhinestone bracelet. It wasn’t over-the-top, even though it might seem that way. I kept some money in my pocket by getting discount wedding jewelry that was very pretty, and there was much selection. I also got a some pearl wedding jewelry for myself, and wore it in my wedding ceremony. The quality of the jewelry is top-notch, and the prices are deeply discounted. The groomsmen were pleased with what my hubby got them, and the bridesmaids were thrilled with theirs.
All my dreams came true on my wedding day; it was absolutely glorious. My groom’s brother caught the garter, and my sister, who’s also not dating anyone, managed to grab the bouquet. Might something come of it? If anything came of it and my sister and his brother end up married, that means my sister would also be my sister in law. Only time will tell.
